Letter to the Members of Quail Meadow at Ibis Homeowners Association, Inc.:

Dear Quail Meadow Member:

The undersigned publisher of Quail Meadow Underground, himself a candidate for the board of directors of the Quail Meadow Homeowners Association, has previously advocated that the best outcome for the election of directors to the Association’s board, being held tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the old POA building just outside Ibis’ main entrance, would be to have the current three-member board remain in place for one year until the next election, in order to sort out the many serious problems facing the community without the prospect of division and gridlock that has plagued many prior boards. That current board consists of Valerie Halaby, Linda Ward and Brenda Mueller. In order to obtain this result, the undersigned advocated for Members to abstain from voting; in the absence of a quorum (26 homeowners of the 84 total is necessary for a quorum) the current board would likely remain in place.

While many of you agreed with this strategy and withheld your vote, the current tally of voting “envelopes” already cast makes its success too close to call. It appears that there will likely be a quorum and, consequently, a vote on directors.

Given this reality, the undersigned recommends that Members do vote tonight, either in person or by proxy, to elect the following slate of candidates (and none others):

Valerie Halaby

Linda Ward

Harriet Sacher

Jim Frechter

This group has no agenda to spend money or not spend money but rather to do three things: (a) restore services required by our governing documents improperly and irresponsibly discontinued by prior boards; (b) to ensure proper maintenance of the neighborhood’s “plant and facilities” that in many cases has been neglected for years; and (c) to institute best practices and transparency in the community’s management.

Please support this effort to restore our community to good health. If you need to recast your vote and need a new, blank ballot package, or if you have misplaced your package, please go to the old POA building's Palm Room tonight at 5:30 p.m. to obtain your new packet from a representative of Realtime Property Management before the 6:00 p.m. meeting.
